Larry Wolpe joins Acton Boxborough and the Douglas School community after 18 years in Framingham. During that time, he served as both principal and assistant principal at Potter Road Elementary School. Prior to that, Larry taught fourth grade for 8 years in the city. Larry brings his vision that all students can succeed to Douglas! Kids do well when they can and it's our job to ensure that all of our students reach their full potential.
Subscribing to the philosophy that students' social and emotional needs must be met before we can expect them to fully embrace academics and learning, Larry is an advocate for all things social-emotional learning. He consistently works to ensure there's a positive culture for all stakeholders, students, staff, and families.
Before beginning his career in education, Larry was a radio and television news anchor and reporter in Boston, El Paso, Texas, and Binghamton, New York. When not "principaling," Larry enjoys spending time with his three teenage children, Mia, Sarah and Jack as well as his wife, Susan. They make their home in Sudbury.
Larry is an avid skier, piano player, and improvisational actor when he has the opportunity. You are welcome to reach out to Larry at
